Bollywood action thriller, Hathyar, directed by Mahesh Majrekar was released on October 18, 2002. The movie starred Sanjay Dutt and Shilpa Shetty in lead roles while Sharad Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, Deepak Tijori, Shivaji Satham, Reema Lagoo, Harsh Chayya, Sachin Khedekar and Pankaj Berry also played important roles in the film. the music of the movie was given by Anand Raj Anand and Ranjit banot while the songs were sung by Udit Narayan, Bali Brahmbhatt, Sudesh Bhonsle, Vinod Rathod, Alka Yagnik, Alisha Chinoi, Asha Bhonsle, Jolly Mukherjee and Ravindra Saathe.

The movie starts with Rohit Raghunath Shivalkar ( Sanjay Dutt ), who faces the humiliation from the society because his father was gangster. Society treats him like a gangster and Rohit grows up under these negative circumstances. He is famous with the nickname of ‘Boxer Bhai’ among his friends in college. Rohit too becomes a criminal like his father but an influential one. He makes a strong hold on the city and the ministers. He become a famous criminal with the nickname of ‘Boxer Bhai’.

Rohit falls in love with a married women named Gauri ( Shilpa Shetty ), who is facing humiliation from her husband. Rohit make her free from her husband’s humiliations and remarries her. There is only one weakness of Rohit, he cannot stand any woman being called Prostitue as his mother Sonu ( Namrata Shirodkar ) herself was a prostitue. Soon Rohit starts facing problems from all sides and no one comes to his rescue. What will happen with Rohit Now? What will be his fate?
