Bollywood romantic suspense thriller, Heera Panna, written and directed by Dev Anand was released in the year 1973. The movie starred Dev Anand and Zeenat Aman in lead roles while Dheeraj Kumar, Rakhee Gulzar, Shyam Kumar, Jeevan, Paintal, Rehman, A. K. Hangal and Manmohan also played important roles in the film. The hit music of the movie was composed by the legendary music director Rahul Dev Burman while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starts with a guy named Heera Bhandari ( Dev Anand ), who is a photographer by profession. He falls in love with a beautiful air-hostess named Reema ( Rakhee Gulzar ). But unfortunatley Reema dies in an airplane accident. Now Heera is all alone and is left with his only passion, photography. He goes to cover a party of Raja Sahab ( Rehman ) on his special invitation. After completing his work there, he takes leave from Raja Sahab and moves out in his car.

But the fact Heera does not know is that a thief named Panna ( Zeenat Aman ) has stolen a priceless diamond from the party and the diamond is now present in his car. Panna takes lift from Heera so that she can get the diamond back. But Heera somehow reveals that Panna is a thief and the diamond is in his car. He decide to give Panna in Police but get shocked to know that Panna is the younger sister of Reema.
