Bollywood family action drama, Heera, directed by Sultan Ahmed was released in the year 1973. The movie starred Sunil Dutt and Asha Parekh in lead roles while Shatrughan Sinha, Anwar Hussain, Farida Jalal, Kanhaiyalal, Helen, Sulochana Latkar, Tun Tun and Nasir Hussain also played important characters in the film. The hit evergreen music of the movie was directed by the well knwon veteran music director duo Kalyanji-Anandji while the songs were crooned by Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

The movie starts with a guy named Heera ( Sunil Dutt ), who lives alongwith his parents in a town. His father is a magistrate by profession. He meets with a beautiful girl named Asha ( Asha Parekh ) and instantly falls in love with her. They plan to get married soon. But before their marraige could happen, Heera is arrested in the murder case of Changu’s daughter. All the evidence are against Heera. Heera is sentenced to be hanged in the court as he fails to prove his innocence in the court. No one believes Heera. Even his father disbeliefs him and decides to forget about him.

Leaving with no other choice, Heera manage to escape from the prison. He is a changed person now. He soon becomes a threat to the people and emerges as a bandit. His only motive in life is to prove himself innocent in front of all. And for that he can perform any crime as he is no more afraid of prison. Police is after Heera but he is determined to reveal about the real killers of Changu’s daughter. How he will prove himself innocent?
