Bollywood comic action drama, Heeralal Pannalal, directed by Kawal Sharma and written by Rajeev Kaul was released in the year 199. The movie starred Mithun Chkaraborthy, Johnny Lever and Payal Malhotra in lead roles while Mallkika Kaur, Asrani, Raju Kher, Rana Jung Bahadur, Razak Khan, Pramod Muthu, Dakshana, Deven Verma and Padmini Kapila also played significant characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the well known music director Anand Raj Anand while the songs were rendered by Vinod Rathod, Lakhbir Singh Lakha, Udit Narayan and Payal Malhotra.

The movie starts with two guys named Pannalal ( Mithun Chakraborthy ) and Heeralal ( Johnny Lever ), who are in police. Pannalal is a inspector by profession while Heeralal is a havaldar. They both are simple minded and very honest policemen. Their innocent behaviour lead to some notorious criminals escape from the jail. They both are then embarrassed by their superior officer. They continues to do their silly mistakes but everytime manage to recover from them.

But their real problem starts when two guys Heeralal and Pannalal enters in the city, who are their look alike. Their same faces create several funny situations which lead to the suspenstion of Heeralal and Pannalal from the police force. Now they are in search of these two guys who resembles them to such extent that even their senior officer failed to identify them.
