Bollywood comic action thriller, Hera Pheri, directed by Prakash Mehra and written by Satish Bahtnagar was released on October 3, 1976. The movie starred Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna and Saira banu in lead roles while Shreeram Lagoo, Pincho kapoor, Yunus Parvez, Mac Mohan, Vikas Anand, Goga Kapoor, asrani and Sulakshana Pandit also played important roles in the film. The evergreen hit music of the film was given by the famous music director duo Kalyanji-Anandji while the songs were beautifully rendered by Kishore kumar, Mahendra Kapoor, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle. The movie was a huge hit of that year.

The movie starts with two conman, Vijay ( Amitabh Bachchan ) and Ajay ( Vinod Khanna ). Vijay has actually taken the route of crime only to find his father’s murderer. Vijay and Ajay always performs activities in collaboration and are very close friends of each other. Ajay saves a girl named Asha Khanna ( Sulakshana Pandit ) from some goons and falls in love with her. Ajay is a one women man but Vijay is a big womenizer and always tries to flirt with beautiful females. Vijay meets with a girl named Kiran Singh ( Saira Banu ) and falls in true love with her. However, Kiran is a fraud and she performs a robbery in Ajay and Vijay’s home.

Vijay goes to meet Kiran regarding his stolen money. In the meanwhile Ajay is kidnapped by some goons. Vijay becomes angry to this and warns Kiran that if she will do any harm to his friend he will kill her. Ajay returns to home and tells vijay that he met with his long-lost father. vijay discovers that Ajay’s father is the killer of his father. He goes to kill him but Ajay comes in between and they both have fight. Vijay challenges him that he will definitely kill his father at any cost and no body can stop him from doing this.
