Bollywood romantic action comedy, Hero Hindustani, directed by Aziz Sejawal was released on October 23, 1998. The movie starred Arshad Warsi and Namrata Shirodkar in lead roles while Shakti Kapoor, Kadar Khan, Asrani, Paresh Rawal and Parmeet Sethi also played important characters in the film. The melodiosu music of the movie was composed by the well knwon music director Anu Malik while the songs were beautifully rendered by Abhijeet, Prayag Raj, Alka Yagnik etc.

The movie starts with a beautiful girl named Nikki ( Namrata Shirodkar ), who is living a wealthy lifestyle alongwith his grandfather, Dadaji ( Paresh Rawal ). Dadaji wants her to get married. But Nikki does not want to get married with anyone except his boyfriend, Rohit ( Parmeet Sethi ). Dadaji ask her to forget about Rohit as he is not a good guy for her. He then starts making arrangements for Nikki’s marraige with some other guy but before the marrige could happen, Nikki escape from the house and travels to India.

There she meets with a guy named Romi ( Arshad Warsi ), who is a taxi driver living a poor but happy life alongwith his associate, Topi ( Kadar Khan ). Nikki decides to present Romi as her husband in front of Dadaji so that she could get sometime to prove Rohit’s good nature to him. Romi agrees to it and travels to London alongwith her. Soon Romi manage to win Dadaji’s heart and Nikki also starts liking him.
