Hero Hindustani was a romantic comedy released on October 23, 1998 under the banner of R G Films. The movie was directed by Aziz Sejawal and the top roles in the movie were played by Arshad Warsi, Asrani, Namrata Shirodkar and Shakti Kapoor while the roles of Kader Khan, Parmeet Sethi and Paresh Rawal were also important. The music of the film was directed by Anu Malik and the songs were sung by Roop Kumar Rathod, Sapna Awasthi, Kumar Sanu, Sonu Nigam, Hema Sardesai, Iqbal and Alka Yagnik.

Hero Hindustani was a comedy movie released in 1998 after some hit movies like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan but did not prove that much big as those movies. The movie featured Arshad Warsi in the lead and as a comic hero after he established himself as a comedian in the movie Tere Mere Sapne. The story of the movie is nothing new and is about a grandfather and his granddaughter living in England and enjoying its beauty.

The grandfather called Dadaji ( Paresh Rawal ) didn’t want his granddaughter Nikki ( Namrata Shirodkar ) to marry an English men and settle there. The reason behind this thinking was that he didn’t want her to lose her Indian identity. She decided to visit India with her butler Cadbury ( Shakti Kapoor ) and her British boyfriend Rohit ( Parmeet Sethi ). With the help of her tour guide in India, Romi ( Arshad Warsi ) and Topi ( Kadar Khan ), she makes a plan to break off her marriage with Rohit and introduce Romi as her boyfriend in England.
