Bollywood romantic family drama, Himalay Ki Godmein, directed by Vijay Bhatt and written by Moosa Kaleem was released in the year 1965. The movie starred Manoj Kumar and Mala Sinha in lead roles while Keshav Rana, Achala sachdev, Jayant, David Abraham, Shashikala, Jeevan Kala and Rita Pandit also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the veteran music director duo Kalyanji Anandji while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Mukesh, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

The movie starts with a guy named Sunil Mehra ( Manoj Kumar ), who has just completed his medical studies. He is a qualified doctor now. He chooses a remote village of Himalaya for his practice. His main idea behind choosing a remote village for his practice is that he wants to help the villagers, who are living without any medical facilities. His fiancee, Neeta Verma ( Shashikala ), also accompany him. But after spending few days in the village, she decides to go back to city.

Sunil is then helped by a village girl named Phoolwa ( Mala Sinha ). Soon Sunil and Phoolwa falls in love with each other. But Sunil is reluctant to express his love as he is already engaged to Neeta. Now Sunil has to decide whether he wants to spend rest of his life with village belle Phoolwa or sophisticated Neeta?
