Bollywood romantic drama, Himalay Putra, directed by Pankaj Parashar and written by Farhan Akhtar was released in the year 1997. The movie starred Akshay Khanna and Anjala Zaveri in lead roles while Vinod Khanna, Hema Malini, Danny Denzongpa, Shazia Malik, Amrish Puri, Satish Shah and Johnny Lever also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the music director Anu Malik while the songs were crooned by Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik etc.

The movie starts with a guy named Abhay ( Akshaye Khanna ), who is living a middle class lifestyle alongwith his father, ACP Suraj Khanna ( Vinod Khanna ). Abhay come across a beautiful girl named Esha ( Anjala Zaveri ) and instantly falls in love with her. Esha also get atrracted towards Abhay. Abhay and Esha then decides to get married. Esha intoduces Abhay to her father, Rana ( Danny Denzongpa ). Rana dislikes Abhay and forbids Esha from seeing him again. Esha refuse to do so and as a result of this rana goes strict with her.

Rana decides to get Esha married with someone else. But both Abhay and Esha are determined to get married to each other and therefore they both escapes from there. Abhay and Esha are now free birds but they also knows that Rana is definetly trying to locate them. What Abha and Esha will do now to get together for the lifetime.
