Bollywood family drama, Holi Ayee Re, directed by Harsukh Jagneshwar Bhatt was released in the year 1970. The movie starred Shatrughan Sinha and Mala Sinha in lead roles while Rajendra Nath, Balraj Sahni, Praveen Paul, Premendra, Kanhaiyalal, Kumud Chuggani and Jankidas also played important roles in the film. The evergreen hit music of the movie was directed by the veteran music director duo Kalyanji Anandji while the songs were crooned by Mahendra Kapoor, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, Lata Mangeshkar and Usha Mangeshkar.

Samar ( Shatrughan Sinha ) is living a middle class lifetyle. He is in love with a beautiful girl named Suhagi ( Mala Sinha ). On the occassion of Holi, they both unfortunately commits a bluder as a result of which Suhagi becomes pregnant. Samar refuse to take reposibilty of this condition of Suhagi. Suhagi’s elder brother gets into an argument with Samar for Suhagi’s preganancy. They then gets into a fight and Samar is killed. Suhagi’s brother, Mangal Singh, is then arrested by police.

Suhagi then decides to commit suicide and jump in thr river. But she is saved by a guy named Anokhelal who then brings her home. Anokhelal offers to get married with her so that her child could have his father’s name. What will happen now? Whether Suhagi will accept his proposal or not?
