Bollywood action thriller, Hulchul, directed by Anees Bazmee was released on August 4, 1995. The movie starred Ajay Devgan, Vinod Khanna and Kajol in lead roles while Ronit Roy, Kader Khan and Amrish Puri also played important roles in the movie. The hit music of the film was given by none other than Anu Malik while the songs were sung by Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan etc. The movie did well at the box office and the songs of the movie also won rave reviews from the audience.

The movie starts with ACP Siddhanth ( Vinod Khanna ), who adopts a poor child, Deva ( Ajay Devgan ), whose mother has killed his cruel father and herself for some reasons. But Karan ( Ronit Roy ) fails to accept Deva as his brother and always treats him badly. Deva is in love with a small time crook, Sharmili ( Kajol ), who turns into a good girl after coming in his company. Acp Siddhanth arrests the son of an influential gangster named Shobhraj ( Amrish Puri ). Shobraj tries to put pressure on Siddhanth for relasing his son but fails.

Shobhraj then plans to frame Siddhanth’s son, Karan in a murder case. Siddhanth arrests Karan in the charge of a murder but Deva stands aganist his decision. Deva decides to prove that Karan is innocent. Soon deva finds out that Shobhraj is the person behind all these negative conditions in his family.
