Hum Dono was a typical family drama released on 11 August, 1995. The director of the movie was Shafi Inamdaar and was produced by Ravi Malhotra. The major roles in the movie were played by Nana Patekar, Rishi Kapoor, Alok Nath while some other important roles were done by Pooja Bhatt, Mohnish Behl, Mahavir Shah and Satyen Kappu. The Lyrics for the songs were written by Sameer and were sung by Kumar Sanu, Ravindra, Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. The music of the movie was given by Anand Chitragupt and  Milind Chitragupt.

In the story Mr. Sehgal ( Alok Nath ) plays the role of a rich businessman. He has two sons, the real one named Vishal ( Nana Patekar ) and the other Raju ( Rishi Kapoor ) who is his son from another woman. Vishal lives with his father and enjoys all the wealthy pleasures. On the other hand Raju is a garage worker and is not at all aware of his rich father. Mr. Sehgal was murdered by his own relatives Shrichand ( Mohan Joshi ) for the sake of property.

Raju was also called at Sehgal’s death where he comes to Know that Mr. Sehgal was his father and Vishal is his brother. During Vishal and Raju’s journey to their fathers they accidentally met many times. Shrichand comes to know that Sehgal’s property was to be divided between Vishal and Raju equally as written in Sehgal’s will. So to get the property he plans to kill Vishal and Raju. The movie also presents some beautiful songs.
