The family drama Hum Saath Saath Hain was released on November 5, 1999 under the banner of Rajshri Productions Pvt Ltd. The movie was directed by Sooraj Barjatya and produced by Rajkumar Barjatya. There were many actors in the movie like Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Tabu while Sonali Bendre and Mohnish Behl played equally important roles. Music of the movie was directed by Ram Lakshman and the songs were sung by Hariharan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Hema Sardesai, Saif Khan and Udit Narayan.

Rajshri Productions had been producing movies like this movie Hum Saath Saath Hain, based on family drama. Director Sooraj Barjatya’s earlier movie Hum Aapke Hain Kaun was also based on the life in a family. The movie revolves around members of a family who come together to celebrate the silver wedding anniversary of Ramkishen ( Alok Nath ) and Mamta ( Reema ). They have lovely children Vivek ( Mohnish Behl ), Prem ( Salman Khan ), Sangeeta ( Neelam ) and Vinod ( Saif Ali Khan ) who are very close to each other.

Sangeeta is married to Anand ( Mahesh Thakur ) who were present to attend the function. Also there were Sapna ( Karisma Kapoor ), her father ( Sadashiv Amrapurkar ) and Sadhana ( Tabu ). The plot of the movie is the dream of Ramkishenji who wanted that everyone in his family, including son and daughter in law, should reside together. The problem arises when Sangeeta and her husband Anand were required to move out of their ancestral house and start a new life. Mamta, Ramkishenji’s wife starts worrying about their future.
