The romantic movie Hum To Chale Pardes was released on July 29, 1988. The movie was directed as well as produced by Ravindra Peepat. The key roles in the movie were played by Rajeev Kapoor, Asha, Mandakini and Sharmila Tagore while Shashi Kapoor, Anjana Mumtaz, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Ram Sethi and Anju Mahendroo were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Amit Kumar, Asha Bhosle, Lata Mangeshkar, Sudesh Bhosle, Alka Yagnik and Mohammad Aziz.

Hum To Chale Pardes was a romantic movie that revolves mostly around Kumar and Suman who have been married for many years. They lived happily but the problem they had was that they didn’t have any children. Suman got pregnant once, but after giving birth to baby girl she was about to pass away. She takes promise from her husband Kumar that he will take care of the daughter properly, will not remarry. When Kumar promises her, she leaves the world.

Kumar names his daughter Priya and grows much attached to her. As a result after the long years, both have developed a strong relationship between them. Priya is of now marriageable age and she wanted to marry her childhood friend and love, London-based Ajay Mehra. The marriage is only allowed to take place after Ajay and his mom, Anu, promise to re-locate and settle in India. But after the marriage Priya and Kumar kept meeting which made Mehra family little displeased.
