The action movie Humla was released on May 29, 1992. The movie was directed by N Chandra and produced by Madan Mohla. The lead roles in the movie were played by Dharmendra, Meenakshi Seshadri, Anil Kapoor and Kimi Katkar while the roles of Ashok Kumar, Om Shiv Puri, Shafi Inamdaar and Anupam Kher were also significant. Music of the film was directed by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Amit Kumar, Alka Yagnik, Anuradha Paudwal, Nitin Mukesh and Mohammad Aziz.

As the name of the movie suggests, Humla was an action movie, though nothing great to be liked by the audience. The movie starts with the introduction of a school teacher Devkishan Sharma ( Ashok Kumar ). Devkishan is a teacher in small town living with his wife, and two sons, Bhawaniprasad ( Dharmendra ) and Shivprasad ( Anil Kapoor ). When he finds that his son Bhawani has fallen in a bad company and also has taken crime to be his career, he asks him to leave his house, which he does.

To run the livelihood, Shivprasad alias Shiva decides to get a job for himself. He had a hard time in finding the job so decides to re-locate to Mumbai. There he crosses path with his old friend Madanlal ( Johnny Lever ) who tells him that Bhawani is a big businessman here. Shiva goes to Bhawani’s big house and he welcomes his brother there. Soon a shocking news come to him that Bhawani is a smuggler who is wanted by the police. But the twist comes when Bhawani was shot dead by another gangster Jagtap ( Anupam Kher ).
