The romantic comedy movie Hungama was released on August 1, 2003 under the banner of Venus Records & Tapes. The movie was directed by Priyadarshan and produced by Pooja Galani. The important roles in the movie were played by Akshaye Khanna, Rimi Sen, Aftab Shivdasani and Paresh Rawal while the roles of Shoma Anand and Rajpal Yadav were equally important. Music of the film was directed by Nadeem-Shravan while the songs were sung by Sadhana Sargam, Shaan, Abhijeet, Alka Yagnik and Sonu Nigam.

What can you expect from a movie consisting of comic stars? Hungama is a fun filled movie that keeps the viewers hooked till the end. The series of misunderstandings starts when Anjali ( Rimi Sen ), a young village girl is in need of a job desperately. She do get one but only when Jeetu ( Akshaye Khanna ) get the wrong impression that she is the daughter of a very rich man Radheshyam Tiwari ( Paresh Rawal ). Jeetu also require a small initial investment to progress in life so he plans to marry a rich girl.

Nandu ( Aftab Shivdasani ) wanted to be a famous singer but he got opposition from his parents. Thus he has no choice but to run away and settle in Mumbai on own. Anjali and Nandu got the same room at low cost but were required to live under the same roof and pretend as husband wife. Radheshyam has a lovely wife Mrs. Tiwari ( Shoma Anand ) but she began suspecting him after her encounter with Kacharaseth ( Shakti Kapoor ). She started thinking that her husband has more sons and daughters than she knew.
