Indra Jeet was a criminal action drama released on August 8, 1991. The movie was produced by Ramesh Behl and the director of the movie was K V Raju. The lead roles in the movie were played by Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Prada, Kader Khan and Neelam Kothari. Some other good roles were played by Avtar Gill, Saeed Jaffery, Kumar Gaurav and Sadashiv Amrapurkar. The music director of the movie was R D Burman while the singers were Asha Bhosle, Amit kumar, Abhijeet and Sudesh Bhosle. The lyrics were written by Gulshan Bawra.

In the movie Indrajeet ( Amitabh Bachchan ) is an honest police officer whose duty means everything to him. He hates criminals and wants to eradicate crime from the city. He meets Shanti ( Jaya Prada ) and both fell in love with each other. Their relationship was flourishing much to the chagrin of their destiny. Both wanted to get married and settled in life. The twist arises when Indrajeet is given a case and he finds the involvement of Shanti’s father ( Saeed Jaffery ) in the crime. He sets off to arrest him but faces the opposition of his own love.

Shanti succeeds in saving her father and in the process Indrajeet gets transferred. He lives alone so adopts a girl Neelu ( Neelam Kothari ). She grows up into a beautiful girl and fells in love with Vijay ( Kumar Gaurav ). Indrajeet arranges their marriage. To his shock the couple gets killed leaving him in grief and pain. He goes mad and decides to teach the killers a lesson. He sets in search of the killers and finds out that one of the culprits is Ajit, Shanti’s brother. Thus he again finds himself in that same situation as earlier. What will he do?
