Bollywood women-oriented flick, Insaaf Ka Tarazu, directed by B. R. Chopra and written by Shabd Kumar was released on November 11, 1980. The movie starred Raj Babbar and Zeenat Aman in lead roles while Deepak Parashar, Padmini Kolhapure, Iftekhar, Shreeram Lagoo, Simi Grewal, Sunil Dhawan, Om Shivpuri, Yunus Parwez, Vijay Sharma and Jagdish Raj also played important roles in the film. The music of the film was directed by well known music director duo Ravindra Jain while the songs were crooned by Mahendra Kapoor, Hemlata, Asha Bhonsle etc. Bollywood actor, Dharmendra, was also seen playing a guest appearance in the film.

The movie starts with Ramesh R. Gupta ( Raj Babbar ), who is wealthy businessman. He meets with a beautiful woman named Bharti Saxena ( Zeenat Aman ) in a beauty contest. Bharti wins the crown of beauty queen in the contest. Ramesh ask her to work in some advertisement of his company. Ramesh gets attracted towards Bharti’s stunning beauty and decides to get married with her. He tells this to Bharti who straightaway refuses his offer as she is already engaged to Ashok Sharma ( Deepak Parashar ). Ramesh’s world get shattered with this news. Ramesh is determined to get Bharti at any cost.

Ramesh decides to teach bharti a strong lesson. He performs rape to her. The very next day, Ramesh is arrested by Police. But Ramesh’s lawyer manage to prove him innocent in front of judge in the court. Ramesh is exonerates by court. Ramesh now get attracted towards Bharti’s younger sister, Neeta Saxena ( Padmini Kolhapure ) and wants to get physically involved with her. When Neeta opposes, he performs rape with her too. But this time Bharti is arrested by police in the charge of Ramesh’s murder.
