Theaction movie Insaaf was released on June 19, 1987. The movie was directed by Mukul Anand and produced by Nitin Manmohan. The actors in the lead roles were Vinod Khanna, Shakti Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia and Suresh Oberoi while the supporting roles were played by Dalip Tahil, Madan Joshi, Shammi, Vikram Gokhale and Leena Das. The music of the film was directed by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Mohammad Aziz, Alisha Chinoy and Anuradha Paudwal.

The movie Insaaf was an action film that revolved mostly around an Advocate Avinash Kapoor ( Vinod Khanna ) who has just passed from a law school and was placed with the City College as a lecturer. However this life of his didn’t last long as there were some students in his college who were against him and wanted to make his life hell. They also kidnapped his blind sister named Geeta and sexually molest her. Avinash beat them and thus was found guilty.

Avinash was found guilty even without trial by the judge but when he protested against the court he was sent on six days imprisonment for the charge of contempt of court. He returned to find that he was thrown out of his job. He soon found a job of a lawyer with a firm but was thrown out soon when his employer’s realized that he has been out of jail. The Kapoors move to Bombay, where his mother has a heart attack and Avinash becomes a drug dealer and a smuggler.
