Insan was an action movie released on January 14, 2005 under the banner of DMS Films Pvt Ltd. The movie was directed by K Subhash and produced by Keshu Ramsay. The top roles were played by Akshay Kumar, Tusshar Kapoor, Lara Dutta and Ajay Devgan while the roles of Esha Deol and Laxmikant Berde were also important. The music of the film was directed by Himesh Reshammiya and the songs were sung by Udit Narayan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kunal Ganjawala, Alka Yagnik and Sonu Nigam.

The movie Insan was earlier titled as Sipaahi and gives the feeling of the movie Khakee as most of the characters in the film Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan, Tusshar Kapoor, Lara Dutta and even the producer Keshu Ramsay were also there in the movie Khakee. The theme of the movie is about terrorism and tries to awaken the general public. The story of the movie is about a Muslim autorickshaw driver Amjad ( Akshay Kumar ) who is in love with a Muslim girl Heena ( Esha Deol ). The problem to their relationship was posed by her parents ( Archana Puran Singh and Sharat Saxena ) who didn’t want her to marry an autorickshaw driver.

Then there is entry of a CID officer Ajit Rathod ( Ajay Devgan ) who is feeling sad due to the loss of his beloved wife ( Koena Mitra ) who was killed by a terrorist ( Rahul Dev ) whom he is searching for a long time. Uninterested in life and to take revenge, he then decides to track all the terrorists. Amjad and Ajit came across each other and ended becomimg friends of each other. Ajit also came across a daring journalist Meghna ( Lara Dutta ) who not only helped him in his venture but also provided him some control over life.
