Bollywood action crima thriller, International Khiladi, directed by Umesh Mehra and written by Ved Prakash Sharma was released on March 26, 1999. The movie starred Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna in lead roles while Vivek Shaq, Mukesh Khanna, Rajat Bedi, Vivek Vaswani, Johnny Lever, Gulshan Grover, Avtar Gill and Asrani also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the well knwon music directoir Aadesh Srivastava while the songs were beautifully sung by Sonu Nigam, Roop Kumar rathod, Udit Narayan, Sudesh Bhonsle, Alka Yagnik, Jaspinder Narula etc.

The movie starts with a deadly gangster named Devraaj ( Akshay Kumar ), who has been choosen the new boss of the gangsters all around the world. A young and beautiful reporter, Payal ( Twinkle Khanna ) is asked to get an interview of devraaj. Intially Devraaj keeps avoiding her but her every next attempt for his interview bring him closer to her. Soon they both falls in love with each other. Devraaj tells her everything about his past and how he became a gangster. They both planned to get married with each other.

But their lives gets upturned when Devraaj reveals that Payal’s brother Ravi ( Vivek Shaq ), who is working for him is actually a police informer. Ravi gets killed and Payal blames Devraaj for this. She even lies in the court that Devraaj also raped her in front of her brother. Devraaj keep silence in the court as he is thinking that his mentor, Bismillah ( Mukesh Khanna ) si behind this assassination. But he get shcoked to learn that Bismillah has not performed this deed. Devraaj escapes from the prison and is determined to learn the reason why Payal lied in the court.
