The movie Itihaas was an action movie released on June 20, 1997. The movie was directed by Raj Kanwar and the producers were K Pappu and Raj Kanwar. The lead roles were played by Ajay Devgan, Twinkle Khanna, Raj Babbar and Amrish Puri. Other good roles were played by Shakti Kapoor, Aruna Irani and Mohnish Behl. The music of the film was given by Dilip Sen and Sameer Sen and the singers were Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik, Sukhwinder Singh and K Pappu.

In the movie Digvijay singh ( Raj Babbar ) plays the role of a wealthy and authoritative Thakur. He had a very loyal servant Balwant ( Amrish Puri ) who worshipped him like God. Balwant’s son Karan ( Ajay Devgan ) was a very joyous and lively young man. Thakur liked a village girl Naina ( Twinkle Khanna ) and wanted to marry her but Naina loved Karan. Thus the lovers run from the village.

When Thakur comes to know about the lovers he becomes furious and wanted Karan dead. He instructs his men to bring Naina to him at any cost. Balwant too was after Naina and Karan. Balwant instead of supporting his son’s love told Karan to handover Naina to Thakur. In the end Karan kills Thakur when he forcefully tries to marry Naina. The movie also presents some beautiful songs. The movie altogether is a good one.
