Bollywood family drama, Jaag Utha Insaan, written and directed by K. Vishwanath was released in the year 1984. The movie starred Mithun Chakraborthy and Sridevi in lead roles while Rakesh Roshan, Deven Verma, Kanan Kaushal, Somyaya Zelum, Beena banerjee, Sujit Kumar, Sudhir Dalvi and Yunus Parvez also played importanbt roles in the film. The melodious music of the movie was composed by the well knwon music director Rajesh Roshan while the songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar, Mahendra Kapoor, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle.

The movie starts with a young and beautiful girl named Sandhya ( Sridevi ), who is a well known dancer. Her father, Gopi ( Sudhir Dalvi ) wants her to get married with a guy named Brahamnanda Chaturvedi aka Nanadu ( Rakesh Roshan ), who is the adopted son of Mahant Chaturvedi. But Sandhya is in love with a lower caste youth, Hari Mohan ( Mithun Chakraborthy ) and wants to get married with him only. She tries to convince her father that she is depply in love with hari and will live a happy life with him only.

But Gopi refuse to hear her pleas. She is then forced to get married with Nandu. At the ned, she agrees to get married with him and soon they both get married with each other. But she get shocked to learn that Nandu prefers to go somewhere else at the night leaving her alone in the room. She soon reveals that she has comitted a big mistake by marrying Nandu.
