Bollywood yesteryear movie, Jaane Anjaane, directed by Shakti Samanta and written by Madhusudhan Kalekar was released on May 17, 1971. The movie starred Shammi Kapoor, Vinod Khanna and Leena Chandavarkar in lead roles while Helen, Sandhya Roy, Sulochana Latkar, Lalita Pawar, Satyendra Kapoor, K.N. Singh, Gulshan Bawra and Birbal also played impoortanat roles in the film. The music of the movie was directed by the veteran famous music director Shankar Jaikishen while the songs were crooned by Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Lata mangeshkar, Manna dey etc. The movie was a big hit of that year.

Laxmi Prasad ( Lalita Pawar ) finds a baby boy at a temple doorsteps and seeing no arounf there she decides to keep that child. She names the child, Ram Prasad aka Ramu ( Shammi Kapoor ). Laxmi wants Ramu to go to school to becomes human being but her husband, Shankar ( Jayant ) wants Ramu to becomes a criminal like him. Ramu goes with his dad Shankar and starts doing illegal activities alongwith him. Ramu grows up as a criminal. Ramu then meets with a beautifull girl named Mala ( Leena Chandavarkar ) and falls in love with her. Mala takes him away from the criminal activities and Ramu also decides to go straight.

Ramu gets a job somewhere and starts living a new life. But when Inspector Hemant ( Vinod Khanna ) guns down Laxmi while apprehending Shankar, he is forced to go on thw rong route once again. Ramu decides to kill Hemant at any cost. Mala get shocked to see Ramu once again in his old criminal mode. Ramu is willing to kill Hemant soon but little does he knows is that his revenge will only affect his own life and no one else.
