Bollywood supernatural thriller, Jaani Dushman, directed by Raj Kumar Kohli was released in the year 1979. The movie starred Sunil Dutt, Sanjeev Kumar and Reena Roy in lead roles while Shatrughan Sinha, Vinod Mehra, Jeetednra, Rekha, Neetu Singh, Bindiya Goswami, Sarika, Amrish Puri, Raza Murad, Prem Nath , Aruna Irani and Yogeeta Bali also also played important roles in the film. The music of the film was given by veteran music director duo Laxmikant Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle, Mahendra Kapoor etc. The movie was a blockbuster hit and Sanjeev Kumar was highly appeciated by audience for his brilliant performance in the film.

Thakur Jwala Prasad ( Raza Murad ) is betrayed by his beloved and in anger he kills both his beloved and her lover on the day of his marriage. But the story does not end here and the monster of Jwala Prasad enters in the body of some other guy when he kills the monster during their fight. Then starts the real saga of terror in which this monster continues to kill the newly wedded bride dressed in red. The monster abducts the brides when she stops at a temple for taking god’s blessings.

The monster is on a rampage and the police is also unabel to solve the mystery of this monster. The brides are killed continously one by one. Thakur ( Sanjeev Kumar ) is also helpless about this. Thakur’s son Shera ( Shatrughan Sinha ) is a very bad guy and the villagers are suspecting him for the terror. Lakhan ( Sunil Dutt ) decides to uncover the truth and he manages to find out the person in which the monster exist. But he finds it hard to digest the truth. Who is the real monster, Shera or someone else?
