Bollywood fantasy comedy flick, Jadugar, directed by Prakash Mehra was released on August 25, 1989. The movie starred Amitabh Bachchan and Jayapradha in lead roles while Vikas Anand, Satyendra Kapoor, Aditya pancholi, Leena Das, Bharat Bhushan, Satyendra Kapoor, Raza Murad, Johnny Lever and C. S. Dubey also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by th well known music director duo Kalyanji Anandji while the songs were rendered by Kumar Sanu and Amitabh Bachchan himself.

Shankar Narayan ( Aditya Pancholi ) is the son of a rich businessman ( Amrish Puri ). He returns to India alongwith his girlfriend after completing his studies. He get shocked to see his father posing as a soothsayer by the name of Mahaprabhu Janak Sagr Jagat Narayan in a small town, Dharampur. He reveals that his father is doing fraud with people with few of his magical tricks. He feels bad to the fact that his afther is playing with the sentiments of people for his own benefits.

He then decides to uncover his father in front of the people. He takes help of a magician named Goga ( Amitabh Bachchan ) and present him as a competitor to his father. Soon Goga becomes the point of attraction to every person of Dharampur. But whether Mahaprabhu will let his wealth and status go that easily.
