Jal Mahal was a romantic drama movie that was released on July 4, 1980. The movie was directed by R Jhalani and produced by R K Soral. The main roles in the movie were played by Jeetendra, Pran, Rekha and Jankidas while the presence of Jay Shree T, Rajesh Behl, Deven Verma, Viju Khote, Sunder and Jagdeep supported the film. The music of the film was directed by R D Burman while the songs were sung by Asha Bhosle, Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammed Rafi.

The male lead in the film was played by Jeetendra who has given many hit films to the Bollywood like Badi Didi, Nagin, Swarg Narak, Jaani Dushman and Hatim Tai amongst others. He debuted with the movie Geet Gaya Patharon Ne released in 1964. The female lead in the movie was played by Rekha who has also provided Bollywood with many hit movies. She made her debut with the movie Neela released in 1935. She has also sung the songs for various movies.
