The action movie James was released on September 16, 2005 under the banners of Sahara One, Ram Ganguli Prods and K Sera Sera. The movie was directed by Rohit Jugraj and produced by Ram Gopal Varma and Parag Sanghavi. The actors in the lead roles were Mohit Alawat, Zakir Hussain, Nisha Kothari and Snehal Dhabi while Riya Sen was also there in a special appearance. Music of the film was directed by Nitin Raikwar and the songs were sung by Shweta Pandit, Sunidhi Chauhan, Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghosal.

Director Ram Gopal Varma launches a new star Mohit Ahlawat with the movie James after launching Randeep Hooda with “D”. The actress Nisha Kothari also gets a chance to show her talent after being recognized with her small role in “Sarkar”. The theme of the movie quite similar to the movies “Satya” and “Shiva”, a young guy James ( Mohit Ahlawat ), with some attitude, arrives in Mumbai in hopes of fulfilling his dreams. He had nothing with him except his confidence and courage. He decided to find a job for himself and becomes a bouncer at a night club.

James also gained some iamge at the club where he was quite popular among the girls. Some day on his job he comes across a young and bubbly teenage girl Nisha ( Nisha Kothari ) who was also a prankster by nature. He started liking her and the duo soon fell in love. The problem started arising when he was controlled by people from underworld and politicians. James is hunted by the Narayan family and his friend Babloo also gets killed. He was on a pursuit with his love when he broke one of their rules.
