Bollywood romantic flick, Jawaab, directed by Ramanna was released in the year 1970. The movie starred Jeetendra and Meena Kumari in lead roles while Ashok Kumar, Jyoti Lakshmi, Leena Chandravarkar, Aruna Irani, Indira Acharya, Madhumati, Prem Chopra, Rajan Haksar and Leela Mishra also played important characters in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was directed by the veteran music director duo Laxmikant Pyarelal while the songs were crooned by Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

A journalist named Mehta collects proof against a crime don, Jagmohan. Jagmohan reveals about it and sends hi goons to collect the envelope of the proofs from Mehta. Mehta is now on a run from Jagmohan’s goons. He delivers the envelope to another person named Ramprasad Singh ( Jeetendra ) and ask him to deliver it to Inspector J. S. Sharma. mehta is killed by Jagmohan goons. Ramparasad delivers the envelope to Inspector which results in the arrest of Jagmohan. Jagmohan is sentenced to prison for a period of two years. But problem arises for Ramprasad when he starts getting threatening calls from someone. Ramprasad is a singer by profession and is living a simple lifestyle alongwith his wife and son.

Ramprasad and his wife are given new identities so that they can start a fresh life. Jagmohan is released from the jail. He seeks revenge from Ramparasad. He manage to locate Ramprasad and his family. Ramparasad once again seeks help from police and again they are given new identities. Jagmohan once again locates them. Ramprasad gets fed up of this and decides to return to their old house. He decides to fight against Jagmohan on his own. He initiates the process by abducting Jagmohan’s daughter.
