Bollywood romantic thriller, Jawaab, directed by Ravi Tandon was released on April 10, 1985. The movie starred Raj Babbar and Smita Patil in lead roles while Vikas Anand, Satyendra kapoor, Danny Denzongpa, Abhi Bhattacharya, Suresh Oberoi, Anjan Srivastava and Madan Puri also played important roles in the film. The music of the movie was directed by the well known music director duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Manhar Udhas, Anuradha Paudwal, Pankaj Udhas etc.

A well knwon singer named Ramprasad Singh ( Raj Babbar ) is asked by a journalist, Mehta ( Anjan Srivastava ) to deliver an envelope to Inspector J. S. Sharma ( Suresh Oberoi ) as he is on a run from the criminal Jagmohan’s ( Danny Denzongpa ) mens. Mehta is killed by Jagmohan’s mens but they fails to locate the envelope. Ramprasad delivers the envelope to Inspector Sharma and as a result of this Jagmohan is arrested by police. He is sentenced to prison for two years. Ramprasad starts getting hauks calls from an unknown guy.

He seeks police protection from Inspector Sharma. Sharma gives Ramprasad, his wife, Rajni ( Smita Patil ) and their son totally new identities. But soon Jagmohan revelas about them and then Ramprasad decides to return to Bombay. Ramprasad decides to protect himself and his family from Jagmohan on his own. He even kidnaps Jagmohan’s daughter in the process of saving his family life from jagmohan’s cruel intentions.
