The romantic movie Jazbaat was released in the year of 1980 under the banner of Sangram Pictures. The movie was directed by Suraj Prakash. The top roles in the movie were played by Raj Babbar, Shashi Puri, Zarina Wahab and Sahil Chaturvedi while the supporting roles were played by Jankidas and Leela Mishra. The music of the film was directed by Rajkamal while the songs were sung by Sulakshana Pandit, Anand Kumar Chitragupta and Badri Pawar Varma.

The movie Jazbaat was a romantic movie that revolved mostly around a young and beautiful girl named Sapna ( Zarina Wahab ) who came from a small and poor family living poor lifestyle in the village of Ramgarh in India. She had no family of hers but lived with an elder lady whom she calls Mausi ( Leela Mishra ). There were two children also who lived with her. She had no source of income so she started picking people’s pocket and became a small thief who was known to the local police.

Everything was going fine for her until one day the Ramgarh Police Station has its new Police Inspector named Kumar ( Raj Babbar ) who arrested Sapna for account of her various pick pocket deeds. He warns her and releases on the warning that she would not do it again. Soon she sneaks into a dance troupe called Deepak Theatre where she performs an item number that interested the owner Deepak ( Shashi Puri ). He asks her to accompany them to Bombay and she agrees to it.
