Bollywood romantic drama, Jeet, directed by Adurthi Subba Rao was released in the year 1972. The movie starred Randhir Kapoor and Babita in lead roles while Rajendra Nath, Roopesh Kumar, Jeevan, Sunder and Heena Kausar also played significant roles in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was directed by the hit veteran music director duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal while the songs were beautifully crooned by Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

The movie starts with a young but illitrate guy named Ratan ( Randhir Kapoor ), who works as a horse carraige driver. He is determined to provide a better education to his younger sister named Padma ( Heena Kausar ). He then meets with a beautiful girl named Kohli ( Babita ) and instantly falls in love with her. Kohli also get atrracted towards him. But problem arises when Kohli’s brother Shankar ( Roopesh Kumar ) gets attracted towards Padma and offers to marry her. However, Ratan refuse to accept him as the husband of Padma.

Ratan then sends Padma to attend college in the city. There she meets with a wealthy guy named Prasad ( Jatin ) and soon they both falls in love with each other. Prasad then introduces Padma to his mom, who approves her as her daughter-in-law. But Prasad’s mother refuse for the marraige of Padma and Prasad after revealing about the profession of Ratan. To make the situation even worse, she also reveals about Ratan’s father who is in prison in the charge of a murder.
