Jeevan Ki Shatrang was an action movie released in the year 1993 under the banner of Universal Enti. The movie was directed by S A Chandrashekhar. The main roles in the movie were played by Mithun Chakraborty, Shilpa Shirodkar, Farah and Deepak Tijori and some good roles were played by Kader Khan, Aruna Irani and Kiran Kumar. The music of the movie was given by Anand Chitargupt and Milind Chitragupt and the songs were sung by Amit Kumar, Sadhna Sargam, Asha Bhosle and Sapna Mukherjee. The lyrics of the movie were written by Sameer.

The movie opens with a CID Inspector Vijay Sharma ( Mithun Chakraborthy ), who lives happily with his family in Bombay. The Commissioner of Police is killed and the case is assigned to Inspector Vijay. While the course of his investigation he comes across some photos that can help him and keeps the negatives with him. Vijay was not aware that his wife Radha ( Farha Naaz ) had cancer. He is willing to take her to America for treatment, as soon as he discovers all this. To, his bad luck his wife got killed in a bomb blast. This is the biggest shock for Vijay.

Vijay had a sister named Manju ( Shristi ) who is deaf and dumb by birth and is of marriageable age, but due to her disability nobody was ready to accept her. A young man named Amar ( Deepak Tijori ) asks for Manju’s hand. Vijay agrees and both got married. Now, Vijay continues his investigation and is unable to find the negatives. Just then, Manju and Amar are killed and Vijay is arrested for killing them. Vijay being innocent tried hard to defend himself but to his bad luck, he was given death sentence. How will Vijay prove his innocence?
