The action and family drama Jhoothi Shaan was released in the year of 1992. The movie was directed by Rajan Bose and produced by Askari Jatri and Sanjay Gulat. The key roles in the movie were played by Mithun Chakraborty, Shabana Azmi, Poonam Dhillon and Jagdeep while the supporting roles were played by Deven Verma, Shakti Kapoor and Nadira. The music of the film was directed by R D Burman and the songs were sung by Suresh Wadkar, Asha Bhosle, Shailendra Singh, Amit Kumar and Kumar Sanu.

As the name of the movie Jhoothi Shaan suggests, the movie was an action movie and also a family drama. The movie featured Mithun Chakraborty and Poonam Dhillon in the lead roles. The starts with Ranimaa ( Nadira ) who even after the end of her empire, still believed that she is an empress and though her palace has now been turned into a hotel. She has three daughters Ganga ( Poonam Dhillon ), Krishna ( Shabana Azmi ) and Kaveri ( Pallavi Joshi ). She also has a son Kuldip ( Shakti Kapoor ).

Ranimaa now manages this hotel with the help of her three daughters and son. Krishna loved Dinesh ( Kanwaljeet Singh ) very much and wanted to marry him but her plans of marrying him were foiled by her brother Kuldip. Ganga loved Prakash ( Mithun Chakraborty ) who is a motor mechanic but this thing didn’t meet Ranimaa’s approval. The movie takes a turn when Ranimaa knows that four robbers were residing in the hotel and she didn’t allow the police to search the hotel.
