The social movie Jigyaasa was released on March 10, 2006 under the banner of Chand Films. The movie was directed by Faisal Saif and produced by Raju Chand. The actors who played the lead roles were Hrishita Bhatt, Mukesh Tiwari, Varsha Usgaonkar and Milind Gunaji while the supporting roles were played by Jaya Bhattacharya, Rakesh Bedi and Kader Khan. Music of the film was directed by Ram Shankar and the songs were sung by Rahul Vaidya, Sadhana Sargam, Udit Narayan, Sonu Kakkar and Tarannum.

The movie Jigyaasa is a directorial debut for the director Faisal Saif and the theme of the movie is based on the happenings inside the film industry. The movie tries to publicize what happens in all film industries. The story revolves around an innocent girl Jigyaasa Mathur ( Hrishita Bhatt ) who dreamt of becoming a heroine one day and will do anything to be at the top. She has been brought up under the ethics and morals of her mother Malini Mathur ( Varsha Usgaonkar ) who is also a school teacher. She had dreams in her eyes and didn’t want to be among those girls who go back dejected and depressed.

After struggling for some time she realizes that it is not possible to make it big in this industry unless she go through the process of casting couch. Though it was against her ethics and morals but she agreed to give her body as she had learnt that talent is nothing and she can earn everything by giving her body. She soon became what she dreamt of becoming, a superstar. Through the journey of becoming a star she came across several people who showed her the other side of fame and glamour.
