The movie Jodhaa Akbar has been released on February 15, 2008 under the banners of UTV Motion Pictures and Ashutosh Gowariker Productions. The movie is a historical drama based on the biography of Akbar and Jodhaa. The movie has been directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar and produced by him and Ronnie Screwvala. The actors in leading role in the movie are Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai, Sonu Sood, Raza Murad, Ila Arun, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Visshwa Badola, Rajesh Vivek, Pramod Moutho, Surendra Pal, Punam Sinha, Prathmesh Mehta, Shaji Chaudhary and Suhasini Mulay. The romantic songs of the movie are directed by A R Rahman and sung by Javed Ali, Sonu Nigam, Bonnie Chakraborty, A R Rahman, Madhushree, Mohd. Aslam and Bela Shende.

The movie Jodhaa Akbar is based on the biography of the Mughal Emperor Jalaluddin Mohammad Akbar and his wife Jodhaa. The story of the movie revolves around the Akbar who ruled India for a long period of time. The film successfully depicts their love and also the boldness of a Rajput girl Jodhaa. The muslim emperor Akbar ( Hrithik Roshan ) decided to marry daughter Jodhaa ( Aishwarya Rai ) of a Hindu King Bharmal of Amer for political gains. Bold Jodhaa expressed two wishes to be fulfilled before they can get married. First of them was that Akbar should not force her to change her religion and the second was that she can set a temple of her God in their palace. To the surprise, Akbar granted both the wishes.

The beautiful love story started when Akbar wanted to get close to Jodhaa. Jodhaa requested her to not come close again until he wins her heart. She explained him that along with winning the battles he also need to win her heart too. The emperor started loving her gradually but there was some one who didn’t want this to happen. Akbar’s mother Maham Anga ( Ila Arun ) played some tricks so that she can throw Jodhaa out of Akbar’s life and was successful in doing it to some extent, but Akbar later found the trueness of Jodhaa’s love. Akbar was successful in winning her heart.
