Josh was a romantic action movie released on June 9, 2000 under the banners of United Seven Creations and Venus Records & Tapes. The movie was directed by Mansoor Khan and produced by Ganesh Jain and Ratan Jain. The main roles in the movie were played by Shahrukh Khan, Chandrachur Singh, Aishwarya Rai and Sharad Kapoor while the supporting roles were played by Priya Gill and Sharat Saxena. Music of the film was directed by Anu Malik and the songs were sung by Udit Narayan, Jolly Mukherjee, Hema Sardesai, Alka Yagnik and Abhijeet.

Josh, directed by Mansoor Khan, was in news when it was released mostly for its casting or appropriately miscasting in the film. The audience was not able to accept Aishwarya Rai as Shahrukh’s sister and Priya Gill playing his love interest. The director has also several hits under his belt like Qayamat se Qayamat Tak, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander and Akele Hum Akele Tum. The movie aims at the youth and has been given a Goan flavor.

The movie displays the fight between two gangs in Goa, Eagle and Bichchu who were under the control of their respective leaders Max ( Shahrukh Khan ) and Prakash ( Sharad Kapoor ). While in quest to prove eah other wrong they discovers that their siblings Shirley ( Aishwarya Rai ) and Rahul ( Chandrachud Singh ) have started liking each other. Shirley, Max’s sister, loved his brother and also helped him to impress his love interest Rosanne ( Priya Gill ). Max was against Shirley’s and Rahul’s love initially but had to quit before his sister.
