Suspense thriller, Jurm, starring Bobby Deol and Lara Dutta in lead roles was released on February 10, 2005. The movie was directed by famous director, Vikram Bhatt. the other starcast of the film comprises of Milind Soman, Gul Panag, Ashish Vidhyarthi, Vivek Shauq and Shakti Kapoor in important roles. The music of the film was given by Anand Raj Anand and Anu Malik in collaboration while the songs were sung by Adnan Sami, Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik etc. The movie recieved positive response from the audience and managed to do average business at the box office.

The movie starts with a wealthy industrialist, Avinash Malhotra ( Bobby Deol ) who falls in love with a beautiful girl named Sanjana ( Lara Dutta ) after meeting her on new years eve. They both instantly falls in love with each other and soon get married. But after few days of their marraige, Avinash starts noticing some changes in Sanjana’s behaviour. He becomes suspicious on her when he finds out that she lies to him and also remians absent in home during his working hours. He decides to follow her when she leaves for somewhere and learns that Sanjana is having a extramarital affair with someone.

Heartbroken Avinash drinks heavily and confronts her resulting in an argument. Avinash becomes sleepy because of heavy drinking and goes to sleep. The next morning he is woken by police who arrests him in the charge of his wife’s Sanjana’s murder. Avinash get shocked by this and immediately calls his advocate cum friend, Rohit ( Milind Soman ). But despite of the great effort putted by Rohit in the court, Avinash is sentenced to death. But Avinash manages to escape from police custody. Now he only wants to know who is the actual murderer?
