Bollywood family drama, Jwar Bhata, directed by Adhurthi Subba Rao and written by Rajednra Kishen was released on November 2, 1973. The movie starred Dharmendra and Saira Banu in lead roles while Shammi, Sujit Kumar, Jayshree T., Nasir Hussain, Randhir, Meena T., Rajendra Nath, Sunder and Jeevan also played important roles in the film. The evergreen hit music of the movie was given by the well known music director Laxmikant Pyarelal while the songs were crooned by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonlse etc.

Durga Das Prasad ( Nasir Hussain ) is a rich businessman and is living alongwith his son. His son falls in love with a poor girl and when Durga Das opposes for their marraige, his son decides to walk out of the house. His son get married to that girl and soon they becomes the proud parents a child. But unfortunately, Durga Das’s son passes away leaving behind his devastated wife and son. Durga Das then realises his mistakes and starts looking for his son’s wife and son. But all his efforts goes in vain.

Years later, a young woman named Gayatri ( Saira Banu ) enters in Durga Das’s life as his secretary. Gayatri meets with a handsome hunk named Biloo ( Dharmendra ), who runs a Dal Roti restuarant. Gayatri bring him home to met with Durga Das. Durga Das verifies that Biloo is indeed his grandson. After few days, Durga Das passes away leaving everything in Biloo’s hand, who has no idea to what to do with this money. It is then some corrupt person decides to make a fool out of Biloo.
