Bollywood action thriller, Jyoti Bane Jwala, directed by Narayan Rao Dasari was released on June 6, 1980. The movie starred Jeetendra and Sarika in lead roles while Vinod Mehra, Ashok Kumar, Waheeda Rehman, Moushami Chatterjee, Kadar Khan, Satyendra Kapoor, Iftekhaar and Seema Deo also played important roles in the film. The melodious music of the movie was composed by Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar, Usha Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starts with young and handsome Suraj ( Jeetendra ), who falls in love with a beautiful girl named Malti ( Waheeda Rehman ). They both get very intimate with each other as their marraige has already been finalized by their parents. But before their marraige could happen, Suraj meets with an accident and dies instantly. Malti gets devasted with this news. To make the matter more worse, it is revealed that Malti is pregnant with Suraj’s child. Malti is sent to a secluded place by her father where she gives birth to her child. Her father tells her that she gave birth to a dead child.

He then forces her to marry Mr. O.P. Bakshi ( Shreeram Lagoo ). Malti starts leading a happy life with her husband. But her life once again takes a big turn when she meets with a young guy named Jyoti ( Jeetendra ) who completely resembles Suraj. She tries to know more about him and ends up learning that he is actually her son. But she is afraid of her husband’s reaction when he will know about this. There is also a secret about Jyoti which she doesn’t know that Jyoti is the criminal don famous with the name of Jwala.
