Bollywood family drama, Kaamchor, directed by K. Vishwanath was released on December 24, 1982. The movie starred Rakesh Roshan and Jayapradha in lead roles while Neeta Mehta, Tanuja, Pinchoo Kapoor, Asrani, Suresh Oberoi, Sujit Kumar and Shreeram Lagoo also played important characters in the film. The melodious hit music of the movie was composed by the well knwon music director Rajesh Roshan while the songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

The movie starts with a good for nothing guy named Suraj ( Rakesh Roshan ), who simply hates doing work. He wants to live his life with an ease but doesn’t want to work at all. While attending a marraige, he reveals that the groom will be living alongwith his in-laws after the marriage. He then decides to get married with a rich girl, so that he does not need to do work at all his whole life. Luckily, he reveals that the bride has an unmarried sister named Geeta Sanghvi ( Jayapradha ).

Suraj starts wooing the Geeta and soon she falls in love with him. Geeta then introduces him to her father named Rai Bahadur Chunilal Sanghvi ( Shreeram Lagoo ), who gives his nod for their marriage. Soon they both get married to each other. But he get shcoked when he learns that Geeta wants to move out of his parent’s house as she does not want people to say that Suraj get married with her only for her wealth. What Suraj will do now?
