The romantic movie Kachche Dhaage was released on February 19, 1999 under the banner of Tips Music Films. The movie was directed by Milan Luthria and produced by Kumar S Taurani and Ramesh S Taurani. The key roles in the movie were played by Ajay Devgan, Manisha Koirala, Saif Ali Khan and Namrata Shirodkar while the roles of Sadashiv Amrapurkar and Govind Namdeo were also important. Music of the film was directed by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and the songs were sung by Lata Mangeshkar, Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik and Hans Raj Behl.

Kachche Dhaage was directed by Milan Luthria who is a former assistant and relative of Mahesh Bhatt. Though the director had put in his full efforts to make the film but the movie was like a usual Bollywood movie. The story of the movie is about two guys Afthab ( Ajay Devgan ) and Dhananjay ( Saif Ali Khan ). While Afthab is a Muslim and son of a thief, Dhananjay was a rich son of a Hindu businessman. They come across one day and soon were attacked by a group of terrorists who wanted to take advantage of the brothers as well as take revenge on Afthab for stealing their weapons.

The heroes of the movie also had their lady loves. While Afthab loved Rukhsana ( Manisha Koirala ), Dhananjay  loved Ragini Pandit ( Namrata Shirodkar ). The theme of the movie was that how the two brothers who initially not wanted to see each other, now forms a close bond between them. The story of the movie was little confusing with several subplots inside one common plot. Though the movie lacks uniqueness, it would be worth watching it for atleast single time.
