The action movie Kali Ganga was released on June 1, 1990. The movie was directed by Raj N Sippy and produced by Kumar Ramsay. The major roles in the movie were played by Govinda, Suresh Oberoi, Dimple Kapadia and Prem Chopra while the roles of Gulshan Grover, Asha Lata, Tej Sapru and Lalita Pawar were also good. The music of the film was directed by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Amit Kumar, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Mohammad Aziz and Alka Yagnik.

Govinda has given several hits like Coolie No. 1, Hero No.1, Aunty No. 1 and Haseena Maan Jaayegi among the rest. He has also sung the songs for movies Raja Bhaiya, Waah! Tera Kya Kehna, Haseena Maan Jaayegi. Dimple Kapadia debuted with the hit movie Bobby released in 1973.
