Kalyug was an action thriller released on December 9, 2005 under the banner of Vishesh Films. The movie was directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Mukesh Bhatt. The actors in the main roles of the film were Deepal Shaw, Kunal Khemu, Smily Suri and Emraan Hashmi while the presence of Amrita Singh and Ashutosh Rana supported the film. The music of the film was directed by Rohail Hyat and Anu Malik while the songs were sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Amit Sana, Alisha Chinoy and Atif Aslam.

Kalyug was going to be titled as Blue Film earlier and is actually based on some different theme that displays the harsh aspect of life in today’s world. The movie is based on the multi billion dollar internet porn industry that has grown over the years. Kunal ( Kunal Khemu ) is living in Mumbai after his father was forced to move due to the terrorist attacks. He came across an orphan young girl Renuka ( Smily Suri ) whose father died in a train accident. Soon both found themselves in love with each other and both decided to get married.

When the newly married couple was on their honeymoon, their intimate moments were captured by a camera. Kunal and Renuka gets arrested on the charge of making blue films. Faced with the humiliation, Renuka was unable to handle the pressure and thus commits suicide. Kunal decides to prove his innocence and heads to the dark world of Zurich. It was a fight of a single man against the world of prostitution and blue film makers. Kunal had just the pic of a famous Indian porn star Annie ( Deepal Shaw ). The movie also starred Alibhai (Emran Hashmi ), who owned a sex shop in Amsterdam.
