The action movie Karate was released in the year of 1983. The movie was directed as well as produced by Deb Mukherjee. The top roles in the movie were played by Mithun Chakraborty, Jai Raj, Kajal Kiran and Deb Mukherjee while the supporting roles were played by Yogita Bali and Prema Narayan. The music of the film was directed by Bappi Lahiri while the songs were sung by Kavita Krishnamurthy, Gurmeet Kaur, Asha Bhosle, Kishore Kumar and Amit Kumar.

He made his debut as a hero with the movie Mrigaya released in 1976. The female lead in the film was played by Kajal Kiran who acted in the movies like Maang Bharo Sajna released in 1980, Mujhe Kasam Hai released in 1985 and Ghar Sansar released in 1986 while her debut film was Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahin released in 1977.
