Bollywood action drama, Karmayogi, directed by Ram Maheshwari and written by Binoy Chatterjee was released in the year 1978. The movie starred Jeetendra and Mala Sinha in lead roles while Raaj Kumar, Reena Roy, Rekha, Sudhir Dalvi, Mushtaq Merchant, Ajit, Vijay Mehra, Sudhir Dalvi and Vijay Mehta also played significant characaters in the film. the hit music of the film was directed by the veteran music director duo Kalyanji-Anandji while the songs were crooned by Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle.

The movie starts with a guy named Shankar ( Raaj Kumar ), who lives in a village alongwith his wife, Durga ( Mala Sinha ) and a son named Mohan ( Raaj Kumar ). Durga is pregnant with another child. Shankar and Durga are totally personatlities for each other and this causes fight between them almost everday. One day, Shankar moves out of the house alongwith Mohan leaving behind pregnant Durga. Durga gives birth to a boy and names him Ajay ( Jeetendra ). Shankar takes the crime path for becoming wealthy and indulge Mohan too in this.

Years later, Shankar and Mohan are now livinga wealthy lifestyle and are renowned person of the society. On the otherhand, Ajay starts his publication house and publish reports on crime and criminals in his newspaper. He mainly targets on Keshavlal ( Ajit ) who works in partnership with Mohan and Shankar. Keshav plans for Shankar’s death and frames Ajay in his murder case.
