Bollywood movie, Karz: The Burden Of Truth, directed by Harry Baweja and written by Anees Bazmee was released in the year 2002. The movie starred Sunny Deol, Sunil Shetty and Shilpa Shetty in lead roles whiule Kiran Kher, Shahbaaz Khan, Deepak Shirke, Johnny Lever, Asutosh Rana, Sayaji Shinde, Himani Shivpuri, Rajeev Verma, Vishwajeet Pradhan and Adi Irani also played significant characters in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was directed by the music director trio, Naresh Sharma, Darshan Rathod and Sanjeev Ratho while the songs were crooned by Sukhwinder singh, Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Abhijeet, kavita Krishnamurthy, Alka Yagnik and Hema Sardesai.

Suraj Singh ( Sunny Deol ) is an orphan and works as a police inspector. Suraj is been told that his bilogical mother rejected him because of some unknown reason. Suraj refuse to belive it as he fails to understand how a mother could reject his own son. He then meets with a guy named Raja Chauhan ( Sunil Shetty ) and soon they becomes very close friend. Raja introduces him to his mother named Savitri devi ( Kiran Kher ), who heartedly welcomes him and treats him like her own son. Suraj is in love with a beautiful girl named sapna ( Shilpa Shetty ) and planning to get married with her soon.

But he get shocked to learn that Raja is also in love with Sapna ans wants to get married with her. Suraj then decides to step away. Savitri identifies a politician named Yuvraj ( Ashutosh Rana ) as a criminal. When Yuvraj denies of being a criminal, Suraj decides to unravel the truth on his own. He starts his investigation but little does he knows is that this investigation will lead him to his bilogical mother and father.
