Bollywood romantic action thriller, Kasme Vaade, directed by Ramesh behl and written by Madan Joshi was released on April 20, 1978. The movie starred Amitabh Bachchan, Randhir Kapoor and Rakhee Gulzar in lead roles while Neetu Singh, Vijayendra Ghatge, Bhagwan, Sharat Saxena, Prakash Mishra, Shivraj and Azad also played important characters in the film. The melodious hit music of the movie was composed by the well known music director Rahul Dev Burman while the songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammed Rafi, Amit Kumar, Rahul Dev Burman and Asha Bhonsle.

Amit ( Amitabh Bachchan ) lives with his younger brother, Raju ( Randhir Kapoor ). Both brothers are very different in nature but loves each other very much. Amit is a lecturer in a college while Raju is studying at the college. Raju gets into some bad company and as a result always gets into trouble. Amit tries to bring him on right path but fails. Amit meets with a beautiful girl named Suman ( Rakhee Gulzar ) and falls in love with her. Suman too falls for his innocence and simplicty. Amit introduce Suman to Raju and Raju starts calling her ‘Bhabhi’ from the moment he meets her.

Raju fights with some of his college friends and as a result they all plans to kill him. But instead of Raju, Amit arrives there and he gets killed by them. Raju now realise his mistakes and decides to live in the way his brother always wanted him to. Suman starts living like a widow and decides to never get married to anyone. Raju start working in a garage. One day he meets with Shankar, who is a look alike of Amit and Raju starts thinking that god has given his brother back to him. But Shankar is a criminal and does not like to get involved in emotional relationship.
