Bollywood action comedy, Keemat: They Are Back, directed by Sameer Malkan was released on April 10, 1998. The movie starred Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre and Raveena Tandon in lead roles while Ravi Kishen, Anupam Kher, Shakti Kapoor and Mausmi Chatterjee also played significant roles in the movie. The music of the film was given by famous music director, Rajesh Roshan while the songs were sung by Abhijeet, Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik, Hema Sardesai, Anuradha Paudwal, Kavita Krishnamurthy and Alisha Chinoi.

The movie starts with two small time thiefs, Dev ( Akshay Kumar ) and Ajay ( Saif Ali Khan ), who accidently kill a man named Mohan Tripathi ( Ravi Kishen ). They find out that the guy accidently killed by them was from a poor family and was the only source his family living. They decides to give a visit to his village but there they find it hard to tell the truth to his family. They lies about the guy to his family and tells them that he is alive and is very busy in work. Soon they becomes the close ones of the guy’s family. Mohan’s dad, Dinanath Tripathi ( Anupam Kher ) and his whole family creates special bonds with the two and starts taking them as their family members.

Dev and Ajay also decides to stick around for some more time so that they can provide some help to Moahn’s family. They also learns that all the villagers are living under the terror of Bhanu Pratap Singhania ( Dalip Tahil ). They stands against this and beats Bhanu’s mens. Bhanu plans a cruel game and create circumstances for breaking the friendship of Dev and Ajay. He also get succeed in it. But is he really succeeded in his mission? Will Dev and Ajay will ever stand against each other? What about Tripathi family and Mohan’s death news?
