Bollywood dramam movie, Khamosh Paani: Silent Water, directed by Sabiha Sumar and written by Paromita Vohra was released on February 25, 2004. The movie starred Salman Shahid and Shilpa Shukla in lead roles while Kiron Kher, Sarfaraz Ansari, Aamir Ali Malik, Quratul Ain, Arsad Mahmud, tasleem Bibi, Shazim Ashraf and Zaheer Ahmed also played significant characters in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was composed by Madan Gopal Singh and Arshad Mahmud in collaboration while the songs were crooned by Marcus Sujata, Dominik Schelier etc.

The movie starts with a women named Ayesha Khan ( Kiron Kher ), who is widow living a poor lifestyle alongwith her young son named Saleem ( Aamir Ali Malik ) in Pakistan. The only source of their income is the pension of her late husband. Ayesha wants Saleem to get job near Gurdwara. Saleem is in love with a beautiful girl named Zubeida ( Shilpa Shukla ) and wants to get married her. Ayesha has also no objection for their marraige but wants Saleem to get a job first. Their life gets upturned when two guys named Rashid ( Sarfaraz Ansari ) and Mazhar arrive at the locality where they resides.

Rashid and Mazhar attempts to impose Islamic law there. Saleem is also involved by them in their mission. Shortly thereafter Prime Minister, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto is kidnapped by Military General. Situation gets even worsen for the people residing there when uncertainity and anger arises in pakistan. Militants are all set to start Jihad against India. What is going to happen next now?
